I don’t feel guilty for liking this show even if there are incest undertones with this show, but Elf- sensei is the best girl to me. The characters are so cute, and the story resonates with a lot of otakus out there who has a dream in an anime related field. The story is quite similar to My Sister can’t be This Cute. But I hope it doesn’t follow the same trash ending of through.
So these are the main points of the story:
- Somewhat trope-filling and eccentric characters
- Cutesy moe-style heroines
- Frequent suggestive shots of various middle school girls
- An abundance of rom-com cliches and sexual gags.
One year ago, Sagiri Izumi became step-siblings with Masamune Izumi. But the sudden death of their parents tears their new family apart, resulting in Sagiri becoming a shut-in which cut her off from her brother and society.
While caring for what’s left of his family, Masamune earns a living as a published light novel author with one small problem: he’s never actually met his acclaimed illustrator, Eromanga-sensei, infamous for drawing the lewdest erotica. Through an embarrassing chain of events, he learns that his very own little sister was his partner the whole time!
The main issue that I have with this show is the fact that our MC is so freaking dense. Elf- sensei is best girl hand downs. I want him to break the archetype for once and just for Elf. That is a faraway dream, I know.
The best thing about this show is Muramasa Senju’s straightforward confession. There is no Kouhai will notice me. She actually tells him straight up that she like him, nice going.During the confession, we are treated to an emotional backstory in the middle the over-used beach episode trope that she was able to confess. Thank the gods.
If you have issues with these themes, don’t watch this. If you don’t care then take it for what it, an erotic artist called Eromanga-sensei, a person who writes erotic drawings, happens to be a 13-year-old girl. In fact, most of the comedy is based on pervy innuendos and crazy misunderstandings. Yes, I like ecchi stuff, come at me you haters.
In fact, the art style and animation are some of the things that make this series so visually appealing. The soft color palette, smooth animation, and wide variety of facial expressions make it hard to look away. The soundtrack is nothing special, but the Opening and Ending are catchy and do an excellent job of catching the tone of the series.
Overall, Eromanga-sensei is a simplistic, cliché and quite a lewd romcom. Are the incest themes really *that* big of a deal? Or is it the supposed ages of the girls? People do worst things in real life and if the story is good then don’t care about the themes.
